B i o g r a p h y

Nick's career has taken him all over the world from the USA to Africa, from Brazil to South East Asia. He studied singing at The Guildhall School of Music and Drama and acting at The Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute. He went on to study screen acting at The Met Film School and The Actors Centre London.

 

He starred as Mike in The BBC's multi award-winning Flashmob The Opera and Neil Armstrong in Jonathan Dove's Man on The Moon for Channel 4. He has appeared regularly on BBC Radio's Friday Night is Music Night and In Tune on BBC Radio 3.

 

Nick played the role of Don José Carmen for The Columbia Artists USA Tour and also for Opera North and the role of Danilo The Merry Widow for Lyric Opera Singapore. For Opera Holland Park he performed the roles of 

Nadir Les Pêcheurs de Perles, Camille The Merry Widow, Normanno

Lucia di Lammermoor and Raffaele Stiffelio. For English Touring Opera he has sung Don JoséMacduff Macbeth, Don Ottavio Don Giovanni and 

The Earl of Leicester in Donizetti’s Maria Stuarda. 

 

With Scottish Opera on Tour he has performed the roles of Rodolfo 

La Bohème, Don Ramiro La Cenerentola and Don José.

Nick has performed Rodolfo with Diva Opera and also Paris 

La Belle Hélène, Pluton Orphée aux Enfers and Il Duca Rigoletto.

 

Engagements also include Nemorino L'elisir d' amore, Camille, Forresto Attila, Ralph Rackstraw HMS Pinafore for Lyric Opera Ireland and Rodolfo for Lyric Opera and The Opera Project;

Pinkerton Madama Butterfly with Co-Opera Ireland; Il Duca

for Mid Wales Opera, The Opera Project and Lyric Opera Ireland; Ferrando 

Cosi fan tutte for Stowe Opera; Count Almaviva The Barber of Seville 

for Cork Opera and Cavaradossi Tosca for European Chamber Opera,

Central Festival Opera and London City Opera. He played Borsa 

in Jonathan Miller’s acclaimed English National Opera production of Rigoletto broadcast live on Channel 4. For Scottish Opera he sang Normanno and Gastone in David McVicar's production of La Traviata. 

Nick created the role of The Doctor in Ligea by Reed-Thomas for the Spoleto Festival.

Nick made his Italian debut at Parco della Musica, Rome performing Britten’s Serenade for Tenor, Horn and Strings with

The Orchestra di Roma e del Lazio.

He has sung at many of the leading concert venues throughout UK including The Barbican Hall, Queen Elizabeth Hall, The Royal Festival Hall,

Birmingham Symphony Hall and The Royal Albert Hall performing regularly with The BBC Concert Orchestra and The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.

Nick has guested with Lesley Garrett, and in Last Night of The Autumn Proms and Last Night of The Christmas Proms

for Raymond Gubbay Productions.

 

On the Oratorio platform he has performed many major works, highlights of which include: Beethoven 9th Symphony at Cadogan Hall; Samson 

at Brangwyn Hall Swansea; Janacek Glagolitic Mass at York Minster; 

Carmina Burana at Birmingham Symphony Hall; Puccini Messa di Gloria

at The Sheldonian Theatre Oxford; Rossini Petite Messe Solennelle

at St Magnus Cathedral Orkney; Verdi Requiem at St John's Smith Square and Mendelssohn Elijah with Sir Willard White at Liverpool Philharmonic Hall.

As an actor roles have included Stanley Kowalski A Streetcar Named Desire, 

Val Xavier Orpheus Descending (for which he had the honour of performing for Anna Strasberg), Heathcliffe Wuthering Heights, Romeo Romeo and Juliet and Frank Churchill / Mr Weston Emma for The Re-Creation Theatre Company.

Recent film work includes Caleb Discord, Jack Body in The Boot and

George McGinley Doused in Violet.
